Just after 11 AM Sunday, January 21st, 2024, E911 started receiving a series of calls from residents off Greenview Dr stating multiple shots had been fired.
Initial information from callers stated that an individual in front of a residence in the 50 block of Greenview Dr had been shot at by occupants within a vehicle and that they had returned fire on the vehicle.
The vehicle had quickly left the area following the shooting. Units arrived on the scene within minutes however information from multiple witnesses described the vehicle as everything from blue to white to grey, the initial description of the driver was a white male.
Units were able to get video footage captured by security cameras at the surrounding residences and confirm the vehicle’s description as a white or silver 4-door sedan.
While no people were hit by the gunfire, multiple houses and vehicles were hit.
Just before 6:30 PM that evening, NPD officers caught up with a suspect, and their vehicle, at their residence in the 30 Block of Berry Ave.
According to reports, detectives with the NPD had been working on information from the shooting incident throughout the afternoon.
Two individuals were arrested at the Berry Ave scene, Ellis Mack Buford, 20, the resident, as well as Nosym Douglas-Jerome Ferguson, 20, of Newnan. The vehicle at the residence was towed to the Newnan Police Department’s evidence bay. Two firearms were also located, both 9MM handguns.
A third suspect, Dontrez Alandis Adams, 21, of Newnan was arrested in Fulton County before being booked into the Coweta County Jail. It’s unknown what his involvement in the incident was.
Authorities have not released any information regarding a motive behind the shooting, if the person being shot at was a resident, or confirmed that he returned fire.
This is an active investigation and while authorities have stated they believe all the suspected involved have been arrested, they also stated that more charges could be forthcoming. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lt. Chris Robinson at 770-254-2355 ext 155.

It doesn’t appear that those charges have made it to the court system yet.
Noysm Douglas-Jerome Ferguson, 20, of Newnan
Ferguson was arrested and booked into the Coweta County Jail on the following charges without bond:
Ferguson was arrested in May of 2022 after a traffic stop on Summergrove Pkwy for reckless driving led to him being booked on the following charges:
Court records show that a Superior Court case was generated for those 2022 charges in April 2023. Ferguson was appointed a public defender in that case and waived his arraignment in October of 2023. There’s been no movement on the case since that time.
Dontrez Alandis Adams, 21, of Newnan
Adams was reportedly arrested in Fulton County before being booked into the Coweta County Jail on the following charge.
Adams’ only previous known booking in Coweta County was in November of 2023 when he was booked and held for another LEO agency on a misdemeanor warrant.
