Around 8:30 AM, Thursday, February 16th, E911 received a call from a female motorist that stated that there was a vehicle currently ramming her at the intersection of Christopher Rd and Highway 54 in western Coweta County.

According to witnesses and radio traffic, the suspect, in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, had gotten out of the vehicle at some point, yelled at the caller, threw hot coffee on the callers vehicle and then rammed her vehicle before taking off down Highway 54.

Units with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office as well as a unit from the Georgia State Patrol responded to the scene as well as the surrounding area attempting to locate the suspect vehicle.

Once units arrived on at the scene of the incident, they were able to provide dispatch with both the tag of the vehicle as well as a description of the subject, which follows.

White male, late 70’s, gray hair slicked back, button up, blue jeans.

The caller wasn’t injured in the incident. Dispatch was able to get a return on the tag and it came back to an address on Christopher Rd.

CCSO and GSP units relocated to the address, where they located the vehicle and the driver, Michael Lymn Roberts, 83, and continued to investigate.

After investigating, CCSO deputies arrested Roberts and charged him with a single count of Assault Simple, a misdemeanor, for which he was booked into the Coweta County Jail. His bond was set at $600.
