It was the rainy afternoon of February 3rd, 2022 when the 2018 Nissan Rouge driven by Andrew Manning Davis, 20, of Newnan, traveled south on W Highway 16 crossing the center line and impacting a 2019 Ford EcoSport driven by Jennifer Ramsey, 50, of Athens, Alabama, head on.
The resulting wreckage shocked witnesses and trapped both drivers in their vehicles, requiring units from Coweta County Fire Rescue to extricate them before being transported via ground ambulance to Atlanta Medical Center.
While Davis would heal from his injuries, Ramsey would pass away at an unknown time after the accident.
According to the incident report supplied by the Georgia State Patrol, Davis failed to maintain his lane as he traveled south down West Highway 16, causing the accident. He has been charged with both Failure to Maintain Lane and Improper Passing, though it’s unclear from the report if he left his lane of travel in an attempt to pass a vehicle.
According to booking information, Andrew Manning Davis, 20, of Newnan, walked into the Coweta County Jail on February 23rd, 2023 at 7:05 PM and after being finger printed and processed, released at 9:30 PM.
He’s been charged with a single count each of Vehicular Homicide, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Improper Passing.
There is no information in the supplied report regarding bail.
